Ink that whispers.
Lines that last.

SUEE is a fine-line and blackwork atelier above the lanes of Hauz Khas Village — every piece hand-drawn for one body, needled once, and healed to stay crisp for decades. No flash-factory queues. No shortcuts on sterility.

The Atelier

A quiet room above the loudest lanes in Delhi

Up one flight of stairs in Hauz Khas Village — past the vinyl store, before the terrace cafe — is a studio that behaves more like a drawing room than a parlour. Two beds, one artist per client, and no walk-in churn on custom days.

SUEE was opened in 2017 by Suhani Vohra after apprenticeships in Mumbai and Berlin. The house style is restraint: single-needle scripts, botanical fine-line, and dense blackwork that reads clean from across a room and delicate up close.

Drawn for one body only

Every custom piece is sketched on your placement photos first — we never re-sell a design.

Operating-room discipline

Autoclave-sterilised grips, sealed single-use cartridges opened in front of you, medical-grade barriers on everything.

Cover-ups without regret

Old names, faded lines, blowouts — we rework them into pieces you will show off, not hide.

How it works

Five slow steps to a piece you keep forever

Custom work is a conversation, not a transaction. Here is exactly what happens between your first message and your healed photo.

Consult & brief

A 20-minute sit-down (or WhatsApp call) on idea, placement, budget and skin history. Free, always — including cover-up assessments.

Custom sketch

Your artist draws 2–3 directions on photos of your actual placement. One revision round is included; the design is never reused.

Stencil day

We print, place and re-place the stencil until the flow sits right with your muscle lines — you approve in the mirror before a needle is opened.

The session

Sealed cartridge opened in front of you, fresh barriers, vegan inks batch-logged to your consent form. Breaks whenever you need them.

Healing & touch-up

Written aftercare, a day-3 check-in message, and one free touch-up between weeks 6–12 if the healed piece needs it.

Sterile, or it doesn’t happen

The hygiene protocol behind every single needle

Ask to watch any of this happen. We insist on it, actually — an informed client is our favourite kind.

Single-use cartridges

Sealed, batch-stamped needle cartridges opened in front of you — and binned in a sharps container the moment your session ends.

Autoclave sterilisation

Class-B autoclave cycles on every reusable grip and tool, with spore-test logs run monthly and kept on file at the front desk.

Fresh barriers, every client

Machine, clip cord, bed, bottles — everything is wrapped new per client. Gloves change every time hands leave the working field.

Vegan, batch-logged inks

EU-compliant vegan pigments decanted into single-use caps; the batch number goes on your consent form for full traceability.

Aftercare Timeline

Day 1 to day 30 — heal it like a pro

Half of how good a tattoo looks in five years is decided in its first month. Tap each stage for the exact routine we hand every client.

  • Keep the second-skin film on for 3–4 hours (or as your artist says), then wash with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free cleanser.
  • Pat dry with a fresh paper towel — never a cloth towel.
  • Some plasma and ink weeping is completely normal tonight; sleep on clean sheets, ideally not on the piece.
  • No gym, no dust rides through Delhi traffic without covering it loosely.
  • Wash twice daily, then a rice-grain amount of the healing balm we give you — thin layers, always.
  • Mild redness and warmth is normal; spreading redness or pus is not — message us a photo immediately.
  • Loose cotton over the area. Skip tight denim over a fresh thigh or calf piece.
  • No pools, no sea, no saunas, no haldi ceremonies — standing water and fresh ink are enemies.
  • The piece peels like a sunburn. Do not pick, do not scratch — slap it gently if it itches, seriously.
  • Flakes carrying colour are normal; the ink underneath is already settled in the dermis.
  • Keep moisturising 2–3x daily. The lines may look dull under the flaky layer — they come back.
  • Still no gym for heavy stretching placements (ribs, shoulder). Light walks are fine.
  • A shiny “silver skin” layer replaces the flakes — slightly cloudy lines are expected right now.
  • You can return to normal workouts; just wash the piece after sweating.
  • Start daily SPF 50 if the placement sees sun — UV is the #1 killer of fine-line work.
  • This is when we message you for healed-check photos.
  • Surface healing completes; deep dermis keeps settling for up to 8 weeks.
  • Around week 4 we assess the healed piece — if any line needs love, your free touch-up (weeks 6–12) gets booked.
  • Moisturiser daily forever, sunscreen always — that is the entire long-term secret.
  • Send us your one-month photo. Best healed piece each month gets the next flash at 50% off.
When to worry: fever, spreading redness, green/yellow discharge, or red streaks moving away from the tattoo — these need a doctor first and a message to us second. We would always rather you over-report than wait.
Word of mouth

What healed clients say a few months in

Suhani redrew my grandmother's handwriting from a 40-year-old postcard into a single-needle script on my forearm. Eight months later the lines are as thin as day one. I cried at the stencil stage, not the needle stage.

Client portrait
Ananya R.Green Park · script, forearm

Came in with a botched 2016 tribal band, left with a blackwork forest sleeve that people stop me for at Khan Market. Dev planned the cover-up across three sessions and never once let it look like a cover-up.

Kabir M.Gurgaon · cover-up sleeve

As a first-timer I asked a hundred hygiene questions and Mahi answered every one, showed me the autoclave logs, and opened the cartridge at my eye level. The lotus on my ankle healed with zero drama.

Straight answers

Everything first-timers ask us at 2 AM

Less than the internet says, more than nothing. Fine-line work feels like a constant scratch; most clients rate a forearm 3/10 and ribs 6–7/10. It is very manageable in 2–3 hour sittings — and you can pause any time. Eat a proper meal before, skip alcohol for 24 hours, and it gets easier still.

Badly-done ones do. Fine-line holds beautifully when the needle depth is right, the line weight suits the placement, and you use sunscreen. That is why we sometimes refuse ultra-tiny text — we would rather lose a booking than watch a piece blur in two years. Your free touch-up window covers any settling.

Yes — one touch-up between weeks 6 and 12 is included with every piece, if the healed result needs it and aftercare was followed. After 12 months, touch-ups are billed at a nominal sitting rate. Sun-damaged or picked-at healing is assessed case by case (kindly, but honestly).

Usually, yes. Send a clear daylight photo on WhatsApp and Mahi will tell you within a day whether it needs a rework, a full cover-up, or 1–2 laser-fading sessions first (we refer a trusted dermatologist for that). Cover-up consults are always free, and we never shame the old piece — we have all made choices.

Sleep well, eat a full meal 1–2 hours before, hydrate, and wear clothing that exposes the placement comfortably. No alcohol or aspirin for 24 hours, no gym right before. Bring your ID, your deposit confirmation, and headphones if long sessions make you chatty-nervous — the bed is yours, the vibe is calm.

Both, thoughtfully. Scars need to be fully matured (12+ months) and we adjust the design so the texture works with it, not against it. On deeper skin tones we lean into bold blackwork and adjusted line weights that heal rich and clear — and we show you healed examples on similar tones at the consult, not just fresh photos.
